Lionsgate Studios promotes David Edwards into global marketing EVP role

Lionsgate Studios has appointed David Edwards as its new executive vice president of global marketing.

In the new role, Edwards will be responsible for creative, digital, and strategy for the studio’s global motion picture marketing department. He will report into Lionsgate’s president of global marketing, Marisa Liston

Edwards originally joined Lionsgate in 2012 as digital marketing director, theatrical films and subsequently held the roles of digital marketing VP, theatrical films and senior VP of digital marketing before being promoted into his current role.

During his ten years at Lionsgate, Edwards as spearheaded creative campaigns for global blockbusters such as The Hunger Games franchise, La La Land, John Wick 3, and Knives Out.

He is currently working on the latest Nicolas Cage film, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, John Wick 4, and a feature film adaptation of the Borderlands video game.

Prior to joining Lionsgate, Edwards had worked at Los Angeles-based media agency Digital Media Management as its social media manager, helping to grow its theatrical film marketing division and worked on numerous creative social media campaigns for its portfolio of film studio clients.
