Hendrick’s launches coastal art project to promote new ‘Neptunia’ gin

Hendrick’s Gin has unveiled a series of art installations at lighthouses around the country to celebrate the release of its new “Neptunia” Gin.

The Scottish distiller’s new flavour is said to be inspired by “the poetic melody of waves along the rugged Scottish coastline” and contains rose, cucumber, 11 botanicals alongside sea kelp, coastal thyme, and lime.

Three lighthouses up and down the British coast have been “transformed” by artist Claire Luxton, featuring “a mirage of stunning physical and digital creatives.”

The installations are live from today (8 April) and can be found at Belle Tout Lighthouse in East Sussex, Bidston Lighthouse on the Wirral, and Girvan Harbour Lighthouse in Ayrshire.

“My practice has always had a deep connection to the ocean and nature, with its mystery something I have always been intrigued by,” Luxton said.

“Living in East Sussex, it’s a joy to find such beauty in the raw, unfiltered shorelines that fill me with inspiration.

“Working on this project with Hendrick’s Gin was such a special experience and felt really meaningful to bring home how much we take our coastline for granted.”

William Grant & Sons UK senior brand manager, James Keen added: “At Hendrick’s Gin, we aim to inspire the curious to seek out the unconventional – and what better way to celebrate the launch of Hendrick’s Neptunia Gin and the beauty of our coastlines that inspired the delicious liquid, than with stunning, intriguing art installations across the UK’s iconic lighthouses.”

In conjunction with the creative project, Hendrick’s Gin also announced that it would be supporting Project Seagrass, a British organisation focused on preserving and growing seagrass landscapes in UK waters in a bid to combat climate change.

Hendrick’s Neptunia Gin is now available in Waitrose stores and on Amazon at an RRP price of £30.
