Top Gear presenter Paddy McGuinness has reportedly been dropped from his deal to appear in Marks & Spencer’s food adverts in the midst of ongoing fallout caused by the breakdown of his marriage.

McGuinness’ deal with the retail giant had been worth somewhere in the region of six figures, having first been signed up by M&S in 2018 alongside the likes of Amanda Holden, Emma Willis and The Saturdays’ Rochelle Humes to head up a series of TV campaigns.

M&S has now hired Dame Kelly Holmes and Strictly Come Dancing’s Anton Du Beke to front its upcoming food campaigns as the retailer looks set to move in a new direction with its celebrity partners.

A source said to be close to McGuinness has commented: “‘Deals like this come to an end and new faces arrive.”

Although conflicting reports allege that the TV star is in fact still under contract with M&S, with The Sun claiming that a spokesperson for the retailer told them: “We continue to work with Paddy and he remains part of our M&S family.”
