Watch: St Luke’s unveils Heathrow Airport festive spot

Heathrow Airport has today (14 November) unveiled its 2022 Christmas ad, which celebrates the importance of family togetherness over the festive period.

Created by independent agency St Luke’s, the 60-second spot showcases the wide range of retail and hospitality options available at the airport, framed by a festive family reunion story.




The campaign will be St Luke’s first piece of work for Heathrow since securing its account at the conclusion of a competitive pitch process in August.

“At Heathrow we work year-round to ensure that our passengers can travel across the globe to reunite with their loved ones,” Heathrow Airport chief commercial officer, Ross Baker said.

“Colleagues across Heathrow will be working hard to make sure that millions of people can get away for their festive holidays. We hope our Christmas advert shares the joy we feel when our passengers create these special memories at the airport.

He continued: “For many passengers, Christmas starts at Heathrow, with over 250 retailers and restaurants to enjoy before they jet off to one of the 200 destinations available for some holiday joy.”

‘The Gift’ will debut across video-on-demand platforms before rolling out in cinemas and online alongside out-of-home and static social media.

Anchoring the omnichannel campaign will be the key message: “This Christmas, depart as you mean to go on,” as the airport looks to position itself as genuine retail and hospitality proposition.

St Luke’s executive creative director, Richard Denney added: “Although our couple are excited to have booked their first holiday away from their kids, and are enjoying everything Heathrow has to offer before they fly, there’s still that lingering longing that Christmas won’t be the same without them.

“So, the joyful surprise Mum gets seeing that her teenage children will also join them on holiday will be a memory that lasts a lifetime and perhaps the greatest gift for her this year.”
