Britvic appoints new marketing director

Britvic has appointed Munnawar Chishty as its new marketing director in a bid to drive transformation in the digital marketing space.

The appointment comes as Bruce Dallas moves to a new role as commercial growth director within the company.

Chishty will join the brand later this year from Walgreen Boots Alliance, where she is currently vice president and global category director of beauty, leading a portfolio of brands including No7, Soap & Glory and Liz Earle. She also leads the team responsible for digital consumer experience transformation.

The new marketing director has also worked across FMCG (Gillette, Scottish & Newcastle, J&J & GSK) and retail, where she held several senior global strategic and local leadership roles. Chishty has also developed iconic campaigns such as the award-winning John Smith’s adverts featuring Peter Kay and the Walkers campaigns starring the Spice Girls and Gary Lineker.

“Bringing Munnawar on to the team reflects our commitment to consumer-experience, innovation and world-class marketing for our brands,” Britvic chief marketing officer Matt Barwell said. “The transformation we are driving, particularly in the digital marketing space, will benefit hugely from a hire of Munnawar’s calibre. Without doubt, she will create a culture in which our marketers, agency partners and of course our incredible brands, will thrive”.

Chishty has also been a business sponsor of the Racial Equity and Cultural Heritage Business Resource Group at Walgreen Boots Alliance and is currently a non-executive director on the board of Bucks & Berks FA.

Chishty added: “I feel privileged to be leading the talented teams in Britvic Marketing. I’m looking forward to further the company’s mission and building on the incredible marketing plans across the iconic portfolio of brands.”
