Zachary Levi blames Shazam! Fury of the Gods flop on movie’s marketing

Actor Zachary Levi has blamed the lack of popularity for the new ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ movie on its marketing.

The DC superhero sequel fell short of projections during its opening weekend at the box office, amassing a disappointing £54 million ($66.4 million).

The film’s leading actor Levi has addressed the supposed flop and dubbed “the biggest issue” as the marketing for the film.

Director Zack Snyder was responsible for three films in the DC Universe, including Justice League and Man of Steel.

A user on Twitter claimed that Snyder’s fan base was “happy for the failure” of the film Levi starred in.

The actor responded to the claim by writing on Twitter: “This is also true. Sad, but true. How much that actually affects the box office is anyone’s guess.

“But I think the biggest issue we’re having is marketing. This is a perfect family movie, and yet a lot of families aren’t aware of that. Which is just a shame.”

Levi also took to Twitter to admit that he had “no issue” with Snyder’s fans and branded Man of Steel as the directors best DC film.
