Savills embraces ‘what it means to move’ in touching TV campaign

International real estate advisor Savills has teamed up with its creative agency adam&eveDDB to unveil a heartfelt TV advert that marks the start of a brand new campaign platform.

The new campaign “We know what it means to move”, marks a shift for Savills as it aims to position itself as a brand that really understands consumers’ emotions and anxieties around moving houses.

Showcased across TV and video-on-demand, it is also supported by activity running across cinema, social, press, digital-out-of-home (DOOH) and bus T-sides around London.

The 60-second spot tells the story of a family growing together in a house through the perspective of a makeshift height chart, scribbled on a doorframe.

The film features scenes of the family’s life throughout the years, from when the parents first move in with their new baby, to the moment their children have grown up and they finally move out themselves.

Set to the background of emotional music, the advert concludes with a new family buying the home, painting over the height chart and beginning their own story.

Directed by award-winning Billy Boyd Cape of Academy Films, the advert follows in the wake of adam&eveDDB being appointed as Savills’ lead strategic and creative agency earlier this year.

“We recognise that homes are so much more than bricks and mortar. They are where real life happens,” said Savills marketing director, Victoria Bennett.

“Our clients have deep emotional relationships with their homes, and through our campaign, we wanted to demonstrate that we have both the empathy and expertise to help them through their property journey from start to finish.

“The team at adam&eveDDB have done a fantastic job of capturing that sentiment in this ad,” Bennett added.

adam&eveDDB chief creative officer Richard Brim commented: “Moving house can be a mix of so many emotions, from stress to excitement, sadness and joy. It can mark the end of old chapters and the beginning of new ones.

“‘We know what it means to move’ positions Savills as the real estate who understands this more than anyone else.”
