Electronic Arts surrounds fans with immersive audio Spotify 8D ads

Electronic Arts (EA) has turned to Spotify to pitch fans into the perspective of players with immersive surround-sound 8D audio adverts.

Using Spotify’s 8D technology, the campaign combines the world of football, music and sound for an experience that lets listeners feel closer to the game.

Showcased across international markets including the UK, the campaign is also accompanied by the Spotify-released EA SPORTS new soundtrack and represents Electronic Arts’ ambitions to create an international soundscape that defines the global nature of football and music influences.

Containing sounds of The World’s Game, it features 100 artists around the globe from a variety of genres, including The Blessed Madonna, The Rolling Stones and Jack Harlow.

“EA SPORTS is all about entertaining and exciting audiences, so using the power of digital audio to inspire global interest in their biggest game launch of the year was a natural fit,” said Spotify head of sales, Brian Berner.

“With our award-winning 8D sound designs, Electronic Arts is able to connect with our engaged listeners on a deeper level by making them feel fully immersed in the game.

“As more brands leverage audio in new and creative ways to connect with their audiences, Spotify continues to be the place to go for uniquely tuned-in listeners around the world.”

Electronic Arts worldwide executive and president of music Steve Schnur added: “The premiere edition of EA SPORTS FC 24 delivers a definitive global soundtrack that builds on innovation and authenticity like never before.”

“We’ve curated a gamer experience that celebrates diversity and discovery via new music & artists that defy genres, erases borders, creates football culture, and powers football life. It’s the next chapter in The World’s Game.”

Earlier this year, EA sport and PlayStation enlisted Zidane and Beckham for a campaign aimed at allowing gamers to get closer to their favourite football players, to mark the upcoming EA Sports FC 24.

The campaigns follows Electronic Arts debuting a 3D billboard last year, featuring a digitised Kylian Mbappé and Christian Pulisic to celebrate the release of FIFA 23.
