Deborah Meaden and Albert Einstein share business tips in quirky Smart Energy GB ad

Dragon’s Den star Deborah Meaden is sharing her business tips with none other than Albert Einstein in Smart Energy GB’s latest campaign, aiming to raise awareness of smart meters for small businesses.

Created by London agency AMV BBDO, ‘Inner Smarts’ sees the pair swapping essential tips from their respective fields, with Einstein advising on energy efficiency and Meaden on how small businesses can control costs and stay on top of budgeting.

The campaign will be led by a series of short films breaking across social media, supported by radio, press and digital activity. Directed by Red Studios’ Tim Owen, the spots are all based on business insights provided directly by Meaden.

“With ongoing financial pressures facing small business owners post covid, it’s never been more important to highlight how smart meters can help businesses stay on top of their energy budgets. We’re delighted to introduce the partnership of Albert Einstein and business legend Deborah Meaden, to raise awareness of this,” Smart Energy GB director of marketing, Chris Taggart said.

Inner Smarts follows on from Smart Energy GB’s previous campaign running in January this year, in which Einstein encourages the British public to take up smart meters as a savvy way to become more energy-efficient.

AMV BBDO creative team Esin Huseyin and Davide Mauroni added: “We created the ultimate duo that we didn’t know we needed. Showing how every microbusiness owner has a little Deborah Meaden in their head.

“We brought to life her real business inner smarts together in humorous working lunches and appointments with Einstein. And as unexpected pairings go, it was surprising just how well their on-screen chemistry translated”.
