Marie Curie asks nation for crucial support in 2023 Christmas ad

Hospice care charity Marie Curie is asking the public to support moments of comfort and joy for people going through the darkest times – such as end of life and losing a loved one at Christmas.

Created in partnership with purpose-driven creative agency GOOD, the direct-response spot will include vignettes of people based on real stories stories and experiences of Marie Curie at Christmastime, including staff giving their own insight.

“Hearing the stories of those with lived experience of the charity, and losing a loved one at Christmas is incredibly moving,” GOOD Agency creative director, Andy Powell said.

“We wanted to bring the idea of care, comfort, and joy to life in an authentic way that demonstrates the impact and vital work of the charity at Christmas.”

Running across TV, direct mail and online, the charity’s Christmas push will look to drive donations and support its crucial work in assisting people with their end of life care – and those grieving for them.

Marie Curie Christmas campaigns manager, Katie Bassil added: “The central truth that underpins our new Christmas campaign is that Marie Curie can help people have the best Christmas possible in the toughest of circumstances.

“Although Marie Curie can’t promise to step in and turn it into a great Christmas, or anywhere near a normal one, our support and services can help to make it the very best it can be, whatever that may mean for an individual and their loved ones.”

She continued: “That’s why we’re asking the public to support Marie Curie at Christmas, to be there for people at the end of life, whatever their illness, by helping to fund more care, comfort, and joy.”
