Liverpool FC manager Jürgen Klopp works up a sweat in new Peloton spot

In its latest 30-second spot, exercise equipment brand Peloton has partnered with Liverpool FC manager Jürgen Klopp, building on its partnership with the club.

Set to go live across cinema and digital channels from December 26, the spot sees Klopp navigate his way through the Peloton world as a new member.

Narrated by iconic commentator Guy Mowbray, with a play on football commentary tropes – the video shows the manager taking part in both cycling and strength workouts on the exercise bike, running on the brand’s treadmill option and using the app for yoga and outdoor running, all as part of his daily fitness routine.

“We kicked off our partnership with Jürgen Klopp in Germany and Austria and now we’re bring a version of the creative to the UK that plays on the football match day experience. Klopp is one of the world’s biggest sporting personalities and is a natural fit for Peloton as we bring fitness to more consumers in the UK,” said Peloton senior director for international marketing Charles Quartey.

“He is hugely respected in his field and his dedication and enthusiasm for fitness makes him the perfect partner to share the richness and vibrancy of the Peloton offering from Cycling to Tread, Strength, Yoga, and more.”

It follows on from a repositioning by the Peloton brand earlier this year, via a campaign which featured the slogan: “for anyone, anywhere”, as it brought forward a revamp which saw a focus on a more inclusive offering. While Peloton’s previous reputation was as a high end and expensive option for fitness at home, the brand’s app is free.
