New Pinterest ads take viewers on fantastical cinematic journey

Social media site Pinterest is celebrating the inspiration it can provide to its users with a new iteration of its long running brand platform that takes viewers on a cinematic journey.

Developed in-house by the network’s ‘House of Creative’ team, the campaign will be centred around three 30-second hero films inspired by real stories from real Pinterest users.

In ‘Find Your Aesthetic’ we see a young women floating through a magic world representing Pinterest in search of the prefect fashion look, whilst in ‘Whatever You’re Into’ we find a world awash with cats in hats – representing the depth of niche interests that the site can cater to.

A third, supporting clip running for 15-seconds features a cowgirl confidently riding a denim ostrich in search of ‘that’ concert look ahead of her special night.

“We saw an opportunity to tap into the unique personalization Pinterest has to offer,” Pinterest vice-president of global creative, Xanthe Wells said.

“Pinterest thrives in what we like to call the ‘magic middle’—the space where people are free to discover and shape their own unique identities, then make them real. That extends beyond searching and saving, and into shopping.”

Directed by Iconoclast duo Alaska, the creative will run across TV, streaming, social media, digital, programmatic, and cinema through to November 2024.
