‘The power of a vote’: ITV Creative taps into reality TV for election message

Ahead of the impending general election this week, ITV Creative has released a new film which aims to demonstrate the power of a vote.

Entitled ‘The power of a vote’, the film chronicles a series of voting polls that have been on the channel since 2002’s ‘Pop Idol’, including shows such as ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, ‘Love Island’ and ‘Big Brother’.

It ends on the line: “You know the power of a vote. Vote this General Election.”

The first film airs on ITV 1 on Tuesday 2 July during the Euros and will air across a range of evening spots on ITV1 and ITV2, including during soaps and Love Island as well as across social channels.

ITV Creative ECD Tom Houser said: “ITV already has an audience who understand the power of a vote, the difference it can make to people’s lives.”

“The most important thing this general election is to make your voice heard, we hope this will encourage viewers to get out there and vote on 4 July.”
