The Financial Services Compensation Scheme has appointed independent agency Republic of Media to handle its strategic media and planning, following a competitive pitch process.
The Manchester-based agency will be tasked with building on the brand’s ‘Pensions Protection’ campaign which has been running since 2021 with the aim of encouraging people to check their pensions are covered by the FSCS.
The behaviour change comms will seek to cut-through the misplaced confidence held by many in regards to their pensions, and promote FSCS’ free online Pension Checker tool.

“We’re very much looking forward to working closely with Republic of Media. Their energy, collaborative spirit and fresh thinking will be very welcome in our work to help consumers make better decisions. We’d also like to thank The Aperto Partnership for their expert pitch guidance,” said Financial Services Compensation Scheme marketing lead Emilie Cumming.
Republic of Media director of client services Leigh Herbert added: “The campaign message is such a crucial one for UK consumers, having heard firsthand the devastating effects and financial loss that can arise when financial providers and and advisors go bust.”
The pitch was run through the Crown Commercial Services Lot 2 Framework with Republic of Media replacing incumbent UM London.
